Grewing up in a rather exclusive community of dragon rider near Beinn Nibheis (Ben Nevis) Scotland, Tiernan quickly learned to care for his family and himself after his fathers death. Isolated from civilization and trained to be a dragon rider, he found out that he carries the Nwvyre (dragon fire) within him, which means that he is a descendant of a dragon and able to shapeshift into one. Due to the execution of all flame bearers 300 years prior, it is almost impossible for one to be born. Dragon riders who carry the flame within themselves are still hunted and executed to this day.

Living with the burden of such a secret, Tiernan is still an important part of the community: he is responsible for the training of newly hatched dragons and dragon riders in training. Curious about the world outside of his village and afraid that his secret will be discovered, Tiernan ventures over the mountain more often to discover the world has so much more to offer than previously thought. What if the answers to his questions are to be found somewhere out there? ( . . . )

NWVYRE

Her head is crowned with a pair of curved, ebony horns that sweep back gracefully, adding to her regal and imposing appearance.One of the most distinctive and dangerous features of this Blackstar dragon is her tail.
